Guillermo Gomez-Peña is a performance artist, a video artist, a writer, an essayist, an activist, an educator, a poet, a man, and a Chicano . In other words, he’s done it all. He is a link of one artist’s defense of “performance art.” What is it? Why do it? Why should a care what a man or a woman does to their body or their audience in order to deliver a message (if there is a message)? Why should performance art exist? Is it relevant today in 2013? Lots of questions. Very little answers. Gomez-Peña tackles the issue head on.

24 hours. Imagine the amount of memory and ram needed to upload, export and compress all that footage! How many external hard drives did they use and at any point did their computer (s) freeze?

You know you’re doing something right when the right-wing press is talking about you in a negative light!
"A Los Angeles-based art group that has received $140,500 in taxpayer funding is promoting an obscene video on its website that ends with a man screaming into a vagina.
The Center for Individual Freedomreports that the video is one of six displayed on the homepage of ”L.A. Freewaves.” The National Endowment for the Arts has given the group 10 grants, and most recently paid $50,000 for Freewaves to create “bus art.””
